The Project: Save Philadelphia’s Chestnut Hill West Train line.

No city can be considered world-class without a strong public transit system. With SEPTA threatening to cut the Chestnut Hill West train line, avid train rider Susan Schaefer turned to her songwriting skills as a creative way to focus attention on the issue. Schaefer, recruited neighbor, Judy Rubin, a retired musical educator and choral director. Together they produced this catchy, one-minute ditty. Springside Chestnut Hill Academy agreed to donate its professional recording studio. Schaefer then recruited local musicians, Kenn Kweder and Bernie Wilson with Carol McGilloway joining. Scott Taylor, a 3D animator/developer donated his time and skills to create this video. The project is designed rally attention to the impending loss of this essential rail line.

In a world beset with tragedies and crises comes a bilingual - English and Dutch - illustrated book that celebrates cozy victories and two-legged and four-footed love. Bridging continents and species, The Adventures of Yin & Yang: Snoepje & the Pizza Box glows with sweet possibilities rather than the tribulations of 21st century existence. It introduces Antoine and Sara, a middle-aged, transcontinental couple, two charming eponymous older male cats, Yin and Yang, and – from a litter of rescued kittens, a most endearing title character with a tongue-twisting name, Snoepje [SNOOP-yuh]!
